Customers pay fare at time of booking. The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales:
 

• Change booked sailing time and/or date ($5 change fee): pay or receive refund for any difference in price. Changes may be made up to one hour in advance of the booked sailing, for sailings that are still open for advance sales.
• Update booking to add or remove feet to vehicle length (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers.
• Remove passengers: full refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for removed passengers.
• Change to a different vehicle type: pay or receive refund for any difference in price, subject to space availability.
• Change from vehicle to bus or commercial vehicle type: customers must cancel their booking and make a new booking for correct vehicle type. Saver fares do not apply to bus/commercial vehicle types. Cancellation fee may apply (see Cancellation rules below).
• Change passenger type: pay or receive refund for any difference in price.

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure

• Arrived early: customers arriving in time for an earlier sailing, on the date they booked to travel, may travel on an earlier sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal, on payment of any difference in price between their booked price and the At terminal fare. Applicable only for the same day, route and direction of travel as booked.
• Arrived after reservation cut off (as specified on the booking confirmation document): customers who arrive in time for their booked sailing, but have missed the reservation cut off, may travel on the next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal, at no extra cost. Applicable only for the same day, route and direction of travel as booked.
• Arrived late: customers who arrive after their booked sailing has closed for loading, but on the day they booked for travel, may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal, on payment of any difference in price between their booked price and the At terminal fare. Applicable only for the same day, route and direction of travel as booked.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers – no change fee.
• Remove passengers: full refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for removed passengers.
• Remove ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): no refunds – reservation maintained
• Remove > 5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): no refunds – travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Add ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay for additional feet at standard price – reservation maintained.
• Add > 5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay for additional feet at standard price – travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Change to a different vehicle type: pay any difference in price and travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: pay any difference in price and travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal. Saver fares do not apply to bus/commercial vehicle types.
• Thru fares: Saver fares cannot be used for thru fare travel between Vancouver (Tsawwassen) – Southern Gulf Islands. Customers who arrive at the terminal with a Saver fare and intend to travel thru fare will not receive a refund for the Saver fare, and will have to purchase an At Terminal fare (if required).

 

Cancellation rules and fees

• Up to 11:59 pm the day before departure: receive refund of amount paid less $20 fee refunded to original form of payment.
• Cancel on day of departure or after departure: no refunds.

Saver

Travel between Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) and Sunshine Coast (Langdale) - standard or oversize vehicle itineraries only

• Change to a different vehicle type: pay or receive refund for any difference in price, subject to space availability.
• Change from vehicle to bus or commercial vehicle type: customers must cancel their booking and make a new booking for correct vehicle type. Saver fares do not apply to bus/commercial vehicle types. Cancellation fee may apply (see Cancellation rules below).

Cancellation rules and fees

• Update booking to add or remove feet to vehicle length (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers.
• Remove passengers: refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for those passengers. Reservation fee portion of Prepaid fare is non-refundable.
• Change to a different vehicle type: free, subject to space availability.
• Change from vehicle to bus or commercial vehicle type: customers must cancel their booking and make a new booking for correct vehicle type. Reservation fee portion of Prepaid fare is non-refundable.
• Change passenger type: pay or receive refund for any difference in price.
• If a customer books a sailing with a $10 reservation fee (available more than seven days prior to the scheduled departure), then changes to another sailing with a $17 reservation fee (within seven days of the scheduled departure), the customer will:
  • keep the original ($10) reservation fee
  • pay a change fee
  • pay or receive a refund for any difference in price

• Arrived early: customers arriving in time for an earlier sailing, on the date they booked to travel, may travel on an earlier sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal, at no additional charge.

Cancellation rules and fees

• Up to booked departure: full refund to original form of payment less reservation fee.
• After booked departure: all unclaimed prepaid bookings will automatically be refunded seven days after booking departure, less reservation fee.

Prepaid

Cancellation rules and fees

• Up to three days before departure: full refund less a $5 cancellation fee refunded to the original form of payment.
• Between three days and up until departure: receive a refund of amount paid less a $15 fee to the original form of payment.
• After booked departure: all unclaimed bookings will be automatically refunded seven days after booking departure, less a $15 fee.

Prepaid

(Southern Gulf Islands routes - standard or oversize vehicle itineraries only)

The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales:
 

• Change booked sailing time and/or date ($5 change fee) - changes may be made up to one hour in advance of the booked sailing from the original port of departure for sailings that are still open for advance sales.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers.
• Remove passengers: full refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for those passengers.
• Update booking to add or remove feet to vehicle length (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Change to a different vehicle type: pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: customers must cancel their booking and make a new booking for correct vehicle type. Customers who cancel their booking within 7 days of the sailing, will receive a full refund less the non-refundable cancellation fee ($25 for bookings departing Tsawwassen and $15 for bookings departing the Southern Gulf Islands).

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure:

• Arrived late: customers who arrive after the sailing has closed for loading, but on the day they booked for travel, may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal. A cancellation fee will be applied to their booking.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers. No change fee.
• Remove passengers: full refund of removed passengers to original form of payment.
• Remove ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only) no refunds for the adjustment to the vehicle length. Booking will be honoured.
• Add ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay for additional feet at standard price. Booking will be honoured.
• Remove > 5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): booking will not be honoured, and customer will travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal using the payment from the booking.
• Add >5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay for additional feet at standard price. Booking will not be honoured, and customer will travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Change to a different vehicle type: booking will not be honoured. Pay any difference in price and travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: booking will not be honoured. Pay the difference in price and travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.

 

Cancellation:

• Customers who cancel their booking 7 days prior to their sailing will receive a full refund.
• Customers who cancel their booking within 7 days of their sailing will receive a full refund less the non-refundable cancellation fee ($25 for bookings departing Tsawwassen and $15 for bookings departing the Southern Gulf Islands).

Prepaid

(Northern routes - Standard or oversize vehicle itineraries only)

The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales:

• Change booked sailing time and/or date:
  •  If you are changing your booking outside of 30 days prior to your scheduled sailing date, no fee applies
  • If you are changing your booking on the following routes within 30 days of your scheduled sailing date, a $60 fee will apply:
    • Port Hardy (Bear Cove) – Prince Rupert with mid-coast stops on some sailings
    • Port Hardy (Bear Cove) – Bella Coola
  • If you are changing your booking on the following route within 30 days of your scheduled sailing date, a $30 fee will apply:
    • Prince Rupert – Haida Gwaii
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers.
• Remove passengers: full refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for those passengers.
• Update booking to add or remove feet to vehicle length (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Change to a different vehicle type: pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: customers must cancel their booking and make a new booking for correct vehicle type. Cancellation terms noted below apply.

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure: 

• Arrived after reservation cut off (as specified on the booking confirmation document): customers that arrive after the reservation cut off time, but still within sailing time, will be subject to be put at the end of the waitlist.
• Arrived late: customers that arrive after their reserved sailing time will not receive a refund. Customers will need to pay again for the next scheduled sailing time and date, subject to space availability.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers. No change fee.
• Remove passengers: full refund of removed passengers to original form of payment
• Remove ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): customer will receive a refund of the amount paid for the number of feet removed. Booking will be honoured.
• Remove > 5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): customer will receive a refund of the amount paid for the number of feet removed. Booking will be honoured.
• Add ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay for additional feet at standard price. Customer will lose their booking and travel on standby.
• Add > 5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay for additional feet at standard price. Customer will lose their booking and travel on standby.
• Change to a different vehicle type: pay any difference in price. Customers will lose their booking and travel on the next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: pay any difference in price. Customers will lose their booking and travel on the next available sailing based on order of arrival at the terminal.

 

Cancellation

Customers may cancel their booking at any time, prior to the sailing and receive a full refund less the non-refundable cancellation fee.

• Cancelling a booking on the following routes within 30 days prior to the sailing, a $60 non-refundable cancellation fee applies:
  • Port Hardy (Bear Cove) – Prince Rupert with mid-coast stops on some sailings
  • Port Hardy (Bear Cove) - Bella Coola
• Cancelling a booking on the following route within 30 days prior to the sailing, a $30 non-refundable cancellation fee applies: 
  • Prince Rupert – Haida Gwaii

Reservation only

(Standard or oversize vehicle itineraries only)

Applicable to routes between Metro Vancouver and:

• Vancouver Island
• Sunshine Coast

Customers pay the non-refundable reservation fee at time of booking and pay the At terminal fare on departure. The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales:
 

• Change booked sailing time and/or date ($5 change fee): changes may be made up to one hour in advance of the booked sailing, for sailings that are still open for advance sales.
• Update booking to add or remove feet to vehicle length (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): pay or receive refund for any price difference subject to space availability.
• Change to a different standard or oversize vehicle type at no cost.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: customers can cancel their booking, and make a new booking for the correct vehicle type at no cost, if change is made at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, subject to space availability.

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure – on payment of correct vehicle and passenger fares

• Arrived early: customers arriving in time for an earlier sailing, on the date they booked to travel, lose their booking but may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Arrived after reservation cut off (as specified on the booking confirmation document): booking will not be honoured, but customer may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Arrived late: booking will not be honoured, but customer may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Remove ≤5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): booking will be honoured.
• Remove > 5 ft. (for vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): booking will not be honoured, but customer may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Change to a different vehicle type: booking will not be honoured, but customer may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal on payment of Standard fare.
• Change to bus or commercial vehicle type: booking will not be honoured. Customer may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal, on payment of correct Commercial or Bus fare.

 

Cancellation:

Customers may cancel this type of booking, but the reservation fee is non-refundable. Consider changing this booking to an alternate sailing time or date for a $5 change fee.
 

At terminal

(Drive up to terminal, no reservation - all routes)

Customers may travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at terminal. Pay appropriate vehicle and passenger fares at the ticket booth. Booking in advance, where available, is always recommended.

• Change booked sailing time and/or date: no charge, changes may be made up to two hours in advanced of the booked sailing, for sailings still open for advance sales.
• Change passenger type: pay or receive refund for any price difference.
• Customer cancels booking or no-show: no refunds.
• Travel on an earlier or later sailing on same day as booked sailing: No charge, customer accommodated subject to space availability.

• Change booked sailing time and/or date: no charge, changes may be made up to two hours in advance of the booked sailing, for sailings still open for advance sales.
• Change passenger type: pay or receive refund for any price difference.
• Customer cancels booking or no-show: no refunds.

• Change booked sailing time and/or date: no charge, changes may be made up to three hours in advance of the booked sailing, for sailings still open for advance sales.
• Change passenger type: pay or receive refund for any price difference.
• Customer cancels booking or no-show: no refunds.

Commercial and Livestock bookings require a deferred payment to be set up at the time of booking.
 

The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales:

• Change booked sailing time and/or date: you may change your booking up to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure.
• Update booking to add feet to vehicle length: this is always subject to availability and can be done up to 2 hours prior to your schedule departure time.
• Change to bus or standard vehicle type: customers must cancel their booking and make a new booking for correct vehicle type.

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure – on payment of correct Vehicle and Passenger fares

• Arrived early: customers arriving in time for an earlier sailing, on the date they booked to travel, lose their reservation but may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Arrived after reservation cut off (as specified on the booking confirmation document): reservation lost, travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal. Will incur a $25 no-show fee.
• Arrived late: reservation lost customers who arrive after the sailing has closed for loading, but on the day they booked for travel lose their reservation but may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal. Will incur a $25 no-show fee.
• Remove ≤5 ft.: reservation maintained.
• Remove > 5 ft.: reservation lost, travel based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Add ≤5 ft.: reservation maintained.
• Add > 5 ft.: reservation lost, travel based on order of arrival at the terminal.
• Shows up with a non-commercial vehicle: reservation lost, travel based on order of arrival.

 

Cancellation:

Commercial and Livestock customers may cancel their reservation up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure, without any fee. If you do not cancel your booking within this time, and do not show up for your reservation, a $25 no-show fee will be applied to your deferred payment.
 

Commercial (drive-up to terminal - no reservation):

Customers may travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at terminal.  Payment for appropriate vehicle and passenger fares at check in.

Standard (Commercial and Livestock) – Southern Gulf Islands Routes

The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales):

• Change booked sailing time and/or date: changes to Commercial and Livestock bookings can be made up to 1 hour prior to the original port of departure, with no fee.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers.
• Remove passengers: full refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for those passengers.
• Add feet to vehicle length (for private vehicles more than 20 ft. long only): if space is available pay for the additional feet.
• Remove feet: full refund of feet removed to original form of payment.
• Change to a different vehicle type: must cancel your original reservation, and re-book. Any cancellation fees are applicable.

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure:

• Arrived early: customers arriving in time for an earlier sailing, on the date they booked to travel, may travel on an earlier sailing, based on order of arrival, at the terminal at no additional cost (but will still pay cancellation/change fee for their original booking).
• Arrived after reservation cut off (as specified on the booking confirmation document): customers who arrive in time for their booked sailing, but have missed the reservation cut off may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal, at no extra cost (will still pay change/cancellation fee for their original booking).
• Arrived late: customers arriving after the sailing has closed for loading, but on the day they booked for travel, may travel on the next available sailing, based on order of arrival at the terminal, at no additional cost (dependent on space availability).
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers – no change fee (dependent on space availability).
• Remove passengers: full refund of removed passengers to original form of payment.
• Remove ≤5 ft.: refund for footage, reservation maintained.
• Remove > 5 ft.: refund for footage, reservation not maintained. Travel based on order of arrival at terminal.
• Add ≤5 ft.: pay for additional feet at standard price – reservation maintained.
• Add > 5 ft.: pay for additional feet at standard price – travel based on order of arrival at terminal.
• Change to a different private vehicle type: pay any difference in price and travel on next available sailing based on order of arrival at terminal. Reservation lost and cancellation fee applicable.
• Customer shows up with different vehicle type: reservation is not maintained, cancellation fee applicable and customer travels on order of arrival at terminal.

 

Cancellation:

Customers may cancel their reservations, outside of 7 days prior to the scheduled departure – no fee. Within 7 days prior to the departure – $25 cancellation is applicable. If you do not show up for your reservation, a $25 fee will be applied to the deferred payment.

Standard (Commercial Vehicle – No Livestock Permitted) – Northern Routes

The following changes are accepted online or by calling the Customer Service Centre up to time sailing is closed for advance sales:

• Change booked sailing time and/or date, or cancel reservation: if you cancel or change the sailing time of your commercial reservation within 5 days prior to the scheduled departure, a $200 fee will be applied to your deferred payment.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers.
• Remove passengers: full refund (to original form of payment) of passenger fares paid for those passengers.
• Add feet to vehicle length: if space is available pay for the additional feet.
• Remove feet: full refund of feet removed to original form of payment.
• Change to a different vehicle type: You will need to cancel your original reservation, and re-book.

 

Changes accepted at terminal on day of departure:

• Arrived after reservation cut off (as specified on the booking confirmation document): customers that arrive after the reservation cut off time, but still within sailing time will be subject to be put at the end of the waitlist.
• Arrived late: subject to space availability, your reservation is no longer honored. Dependent on space, you may still go on the vessel in order of arrival to the terminal.
• Add passengers: pay for additional passengers – no change fee.
• Remove passengers: full refund of removed passengers to original form of payment.
• Remove ≤5 ft.: refund the amount you’ve paid for the footage you are removing – reservation maintained.
• Remove > 5 ft.: refund the amount of footage that is removed. Travel in order of arrival at the terminal.
• Add ≤5 ft.: reservation maintained, pay for any additional footage.
• Add > 5 ft.: reservation not maintained, pay for additional footage. Dependent on space availability, customer will be placed at the back of the waitlist.
• Change to a different vehicle type (private vehicle): reservation not maintained, refund of any difference obtained. Travel at order of arrival to the terminal.

 

Cancellation:

• Customers may cancel their booking at any time, prior to the sailing and receive a full refund less the non- refundable cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs within 5 days of travel, a $200 fee will be applied to the deferred payment. If fully prepaid, a refund of amount will be applicable less the cancellation fee.
  
  If cancellation occurs outside of 5 days of travel, no fee is applicable and full refund will be applied.
